Dan is a former suburban Chicago police officer with nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience.

He is a master-level, nationally-certified tutor through the National Tutoring Association, has a master's degree in criminology, a master's degree in secondary education, and is TESOL-certified.

He is also an editor and is currently writing a book about his law enforcement experience.
